Accelerators and incubators both offer entrepreneurs good opportunities early on. Founders get help to quickly grow their business and they often better their chances of attracting a top venture capital (VC) firm to invest in their start-up at a later point. Still, these two programs are different frameworks for start-up success. In a nutshell, incubators help give life to an idea whilst an accelerator helps existing start-ups to fast-track their growth. Both, incubators and accelerators offer a great opportunity to help young companies and ideas for start-ups head in the right direction, but it’s up to you where you start. Sri Lanka could use more accelerators and incubators in order to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation among the youth.
